The Los Alamos Beer Loop is a hiking route featuring beautiful views and several opportunities to stop for a beer along the way.  The loop can be completed either as a 5-kilometer (shown in blue) or 10-kilometer route (shown in red).  Distances are approximate. The route uses several public trails that vary in their character:

  • Los Alamos Canyon Rim trail is a paved, multi-purpose trail that is an easy hike
  • Pueblo Canyon Rim Trail is mostly a single-track, dirt trail of moderate difficulty.  It can be snow-covered in the winter.
  • Graduation Canyon Trail is a single-track, dirt trail of moderate difficulty.

The route also uses sidewalks on city streets in some cases to link trails and destinations.
